Is it free shipping and postage?
Search and select your textbooks after sign up. Orders take between 1-2 business days to process. After the order is processed it will take between 4-6 business days for the book to arrive at your doorstep. If books are not currently at our warehouse or not in our inventory, books may take up to an additional week to be shipped to your location. After your rental period, simply print off the prepaid shipping labels from your account page. The labels will be available online and a reminder will be sent out near the end of your rental period. The standard shipping for sending and returning will be free.

We have a wide selection of textbooks in our warehouse. Skoobit has also partnered with various distributers, publishers and wholesalers to ensure that textbooks are readily available to all customers. As a member you are able to choose from any of our 2 million book titles. Ordering is very simple and our website is available 24 hours a day which makes it very convenient for our customers to use.

What's the Cost?
Our most popular plan, the 4 months/semester plan costs only $10.99 plus any applicable tax a month per book. This is the most convenient plan for students who are on a 4 month semester. There is no additional cost as shipping is free both ways.

How does the free trial work?
All new customers are eligible for a 14 day free trial period. To avoid being charged after your free trial period, simply cancel before the free trial is up. What's the cancellation policy like?
There are no cancellation fees and you can cancel anytime, 24 hours a day. However once the book is kept for more than 30 days you will be charged for the rental plan that you choose. For example if you chose our $10.99 a month plan you will be billed for the remaining months once the plan isn't cancelled withing 30 days. Even if you return the book within 2-3 months you will still be billed until your 4 months expire.

Do I need a skoobit account to rent textbooks?
Yes, in order to use our services you have to sign up for a skoobit account. Signing up is very easy and the process is quite short.

How long is the free trial?
The free trial period lasts for 14 days for all new orders.

How many books can I rent during my free trial period?
There is no limit to how many books you can rent. It all depends on how many books you will need for that term. After your free trial period is up, you can continue to rent them on any of our plans or simply return them to Skoobit if you’re not satisfied.

How do I update personal information?
You will have to sign into your account page. Once you have successfully signed in to your account page you can easily update any personal information by clicking the change link in the appropriate section. This can be either your email, password, credit card information, shipping address, billing address, name and payment information.

Sign in to your account, click on the My Account link and click on the My Orders within the rental activity section.

What is the textbook selection like?
Skoobit has over 2 million books in inventory. Our main focus is college textbooks and we carry books in every subject from the undergraduate level up to the doctorate level.

How long does it take to receive my books?
Shipping will take anywhere between 2-6 business days. However no shipping will be made on weekends or on holidays.

How do I return my books at the end of the rental period?
At the end of your rental period, simply log in to your skoobit account and select which books you would like to return and simply print out the return shipping label. After that is done affix the return label to your package.
Please make sure all textbooks are packaged properly, so that they are returned in the condition they were sent in.

Are there any late fees?
You will have up until 14 days to return your books after your rental period. However if the book is not returned during that time, you will be charged the full price for the book minus the rental fee, in which the book is now yours to keep. If the book is returned after the 14 day period you will be charged for an additional month of rental and the retail cost of the book will be refunded to you.

If my book is lost in the mail, what do I do?
If upon returning your book to us it is lost in the mail or it has been damaged, you will be charged the full price for the book minus the rental fee. Students should allways take the time to pack the textbooks with care.

What happens if the book is lost or stolen while in my possession?
If a textbook is lost, stolen or damaged while in your possession, the full retail price will be charged for the book minus the rental fee.

What if the book I received was different from what I ordered?
If the book you received was sent in error and was not the book you rented, please contact customer service immediately and let them know, so that we can send you the correct book. After that is done please send back the wrong book and as soon as that is done we will send out the correct one.

What if I receive a package from someone other than Skoobit?
In trying to satisfy our customers, if a book is not currently in our inventory we will source it elsewhere from one of our reputable suppliers and have them ship it directly to you in order to expedite the whole process. However at the end of the rental period, simply log in to your account and click on that book to return and you can print out your return label to be sent back to Skoobit.

If I receive a damaged book, what should I do?
If you received a damaged book, please contact customer service immediately and report it. We will then send out another copy of the book.

If an order is cancelled, how long does it take to receive a refund?
If an order is cancelled for whatever reason, a refund is issued within 24 hours. However it can take up to 3 business days for the funds to be credited to your bank account.

Are supplemental materials included with the textbooks?
Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that all books will have their supplemental materials since most of our selections are used books. We do try to send any additional material that we have for the book including source codes, cds, etc. However since most professors don't use any of these supplemental materials, you will find in some cases that these supplements are unused.

What if I love this book so much I want to keep it longer than the due date?
In some cases students will want to hold on to the book for an additional month or even for an extra semester. That's fine with us. To extend your rental simply log into your account choose the book you want to extend the rental for and simply select how much longer you want the book. It's a very simple process. To extend the rental for an additional month you will simply pay the same rental fee that you had chosen for your previous plan. The same rental fee in your last plan would be applied for an extra semester or quarter as well.

What if I want to keep the book after my rental?
That's great! If you want to hold on to the book then there is no problem. We are glad that you like this book so much that you decided to keep it. To purchase this book after your rental you can simply go to your account, choose the book or books you want to keep and select the "buy" button. The purchase price for the book will be the retail cost of the book minus the rental fee. If there is a case where the rental fee is the same or less than the retail cost of the book you will simply pay one month's rental to keep the book.
